Chant Music – Gregorian or other Flavors? Perhaps a loaded question – when you consider that Gregorian Voices are the most well known and popular of that musical form.
However, they are not the only examples of what we might accurately call “religious music” working it’s way into the mainstream of public musical consciousness.
Every religion has a particular form of “praise in song” – psalms – being probably the most familair example. Thus the connection between the spiritual and secular life has always been present . And accounts for the popularity of Meditative Chant Music.
We might rightly think of such musical forms as “prayers in song.” And as prayers are demands for assistance with the physical and emotional issues of daily life, it’s only natural that this need as resulted in the resurgence of Healing Chants.
